A lot of women are traumatized by their escape from their homeland but often they suffer silently. Therefore Mondfrauenaddresses patricularly to female refugees and immigrants. We are a group of about 35 women from more that eleven nations with different residence permit statuses. We were formed in 1997 to offer Norderstedt's refugees the chance to exchange experiences with each other, get in touch with german locals and find friends in their new hometown.

We are meeting every first sunday per month at AWO Servicehaus, who kindly provides us their rooms free of charge, at In der Großen Heide 44 in 22846 Norderstedt. During our meetings we are dining, talking and laughing. Moreover we are doing events like for example cooking together, playing music, singing, doing arts & crafts activities and much more. We want to create an atmosphere that allows you to forget your sorrows and fears for a few hours and enjoy yourself surrounded by new friends. We are warmly welcoming new guests with and without children.
